Kolari is a municipality of 4000 active inhabitants and it offers a variety of services to everyone. Kolari is known as a growing tourist attraction because of our international skiing centre Ylläs. In Ylläs you can enjoy cultural events, too: an exotic Lappish opera in autumn or a popular jazzfestival in spring.

Nature is our pride and joy. You can go trekking, hiking and cross-country skiing in our huge and magnificent forests or downhill skiing on the slopes of Ylläs and enjoy the beautiful wilderness view.

If you are fond of fishing or canoeing you should go to Tornio-Muonio river – the border between Finland and Sweden – and see if you can catch your own salmon! In Kolari you can really experience the atmosphere of Lapland.

Welcome to Kolari!

The daily airline service to the airport of Kittilä makes it possible for you to fly there from Helsinki in an hour. You can also come to Kolari by train, Kolari has the northernmost railway station in Finland.
